Duration: 3 Year HLA with opportunities for 5 years and progression

Reports to: Senior Electrical Estimator / Estimating Manager

The Electrical Estimating HLA Student will support the estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders for electrical engineering projects. The role provides practical experience in pricing, tender analysis, and cost planning, helping the company secure profitable work while developing core commercial and technical skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist in preparing electrical cost estimates and tender submissions.

· Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to understand project requirements.

· Support the take-off and measurement of electrical quantities (cable, containment, lighting, panels, etc.).

· Help obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.

· Assist in preparing bill of quantities (BoQs) and pricing schedules.

· Support the evaluation of tender risks and opportunities.

· Help compile tender documentation and submissions in line with deadlines.

· Maintain accurate cost data and estimating records.

· Work closely with engineering and commercial teams to ensure accurate pricing assumptions.

· Assist in post-tender activities, including clarifications and value engineering.

· Basic understanding of electrical engineering or building services systems.

· Strong numerical and analytical skills.

· Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel.

· Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications (desirable).

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
