Duration: 12-month placement
Reports To: BIM Manager
The BIM Placement Student will support the BIM team in the implementation and management of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes across projects. The role provides practical experience in digital construction, 3D modelling, coordination, and data management, while assisting project teams in delivering high-quality BIM outputs in line with industry standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in the creation and maintenance of 3D BIM models using software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or AutoCAD.
· Support the BIM team with model coordination and clash detection across multiple disciplines.
· Help maintain project Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or Viewpoint.
· Assist with the preparation of BIM documentation, including BEPs (BIM Execution Plans) and modelling standards.
· Support the production of 2D drawings and schedules extracted from BIM models.
· Attend coordination meetings and assist with model reviews with design teams and contractors.
· Help ensure BIM models comply with company standards and ISO 19650 processes.
· Assist in generating visualisations, model walkthroughs, and presentations for project teams.
· Provide general digital engineering support to project teams.
Skills and Knowledge
· Basic understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles.
· Familiarity with software such as:
· Autodesk Revit
· Navisworks
· AutoCAD
· BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (desirable)
· Good IT and digital skills.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.

· Currently studying towards a degree in:
· Construction Management
· Architecture
· Architectural Technology
· Civil Engineering
· Digital Construction / BIM
· Looking to complete an industrial placement year.
