
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Estimator to join ASEE Group’s commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their estimating career to develop their skills within a supportive and experienced engineering environment. The successful candidate will assist in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical projects while gaining valuable experience across a range of sectors.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for mechanical engineering projects, including materials, labour, and subcontractor costs.
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to support the estimating process.
Help prepare and submit tender and bid documentation.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and ensure scope coverage.
Support the commercial and project management teams with technical and pricing information.
Assist in identifying potential risks and opportunities within tender documents.
Maintain estimating records, databases, and cost information.
Ensure work is carried out in accordance with ASEE Group procedures and client requirements.
Provide administrative and estimating support during project handovers.
Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.
Qualifications/Experience:
Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
Previous placement, internship, apprenticeship, or work experience in an engineering, construction, or estimating environment is desirable but not essential.
An interest in mechanical estimating, construction, or building services engineering.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and engineering drawings is advantageous.
Willingness to learn estimating software and commercial processes.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
