Planner/Scheduler HLA

Location: HQ

Duration: 3 Year HLA with opportunities for 5 years and progression

Reports to: Planning Manager


The Planning HLA Student will support the planning team in developing and maintaining project schedules and programmes for engineering projects across Ireland, UK and EU. The role provides hands-on experience in project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking, helping ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist in the development and updating of project programmes and schedules using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

· Support the monitoring of project progress, identifying delays and reporting on performance.

· Help prepare short-term and long-term project plans.

· Assist in producing progress reports, dashboards, and programme updates for project teams.

· Work with engineers, project managers, and site teams to gather project data and updates.

· Support resource planning and allocation activities.

· Assist in identifying risks, delays, and potential programme impacts.

· Help maintain accurate planning documentation and records.

· Attend project meetings and contribute to planning discussions and coordination.

· Support the use of project controls processes, including tracking milestones and deliverables.


Skills and Knowledge

· Basic understanding of project planning and scheduling principles.

· Familiarity with (or willingness to learn):

· Primavera P6

· Microsoft Project

· Excel for data analysis and reporting

· Strong numerical and analytical skills.

· Good communication and teamwork abilities.

· High level of attention to detail.

· Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.


Desirable Attributes

· Basic knowledge of project controls or scheduling techniques (e.g., critical path method).

· Experience using Excel for data tracking or reporting.

· Interest in engineering project delivery and infrastructure.

Qualifications/Experience:

Currently studying towards a degree in:

- Construction Management

- Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical)

- Project Management

- Quantity Surveying

- or related discipline

Seeking a placement year / industrial placement as part of degree
